Last week a group called
Greenscool came into one of the improvished colonias in Guaymas called Fatima. Their idea was to recycle some solar panels from the well off tourist oriented community of San Carlos about 15 miles away from us. Their intent was to install these recycled panels on the roof of the school in Fatima to assist with their financial restraints and also to teach the children about being "green". In this poor community the idea of being "green" is a new one, as most of their time and thought is put into survival.

According to the
Guaymas government site this will be the first school in the country to generate their own power.
