I Wouldn't Swim Here

Hasn't been much going on here lately. We have been hanging out at home and doing the usual things. Errands, spanish class, the orphanage and just normal day to day stuff. Not very blogworthy things anyway. No big events happening.

Young Diegos' tiny 6 mth. old hands fastened onto my gold chain one evening and it broke so I had to get that repaired. I had a hard time finding where it had been repaired, he did a good job and only charged 30 pesos (less than $3.00), good deal.

Saturday we took a bus to one of the colonias on the very edge of town and then walked down the big hill to a secluded cove. We had the place to ourselves until 4 young fellows came. They keep hopping from one rock to another in the water, at first trying to keep their shoes dry. After a few missteps, they gave up on that and by the time we left they had their shoes and socks off and were in the water in their pants and were soaking wet. Wonder what the moms thought of that when they returned home? Still too cold, water and air for me to get in the water; but they were having a ball.

Personally I would not swim here. It is very rocky and has I would imagine some weird currents. The water rushes in around the rocks and it would be easy to get smashed up against them. The beach here is also all rock; but is a nice place just to sit and contemplate things. Very quiet and relaxing and right in town. This is not a place that tourists frequent, probably because they would never find it. It is a rough and rugged place; but very beautiful in its own way.
