Here are some of the highlights (or low lights) on the damages from Hurricane Norbert taken from the newspaper El Vigia.
The hurricane came onto land in Sonora at Yavaros, which would be about 275 kms. south of us. We visited the little town of Yavaros in January 2006 ,it is a small pueblo and it did not look like the most prosperous of places, I am sure that the hurricane will cause much hardship there.
Some of the photos that I took in Yavaros, January of 2006.

The Valle del Mayo in the municipality of Huatabampo received 150 kilometer per hour winds. One town, Bacabachi received 139 mm. of rain, Alamos received 100 mm.. Sadly in Alamos there were 3 deaths because of the storm. according to El Vigia newspaper.
