Many of us Mexico bloggers have long been reading Steves blog, Same Life-New Location, he has been planning his retirement move from Salem, Oregon to Mexico.
Well, the day arrived yesterday. He, along with his travelling companions, brother Darrell and dog Professor Jiggs crossed the USA/Mexico border yesterday morning. They landed in Guaymas in the late afternoon and Roy, I and Bliss met up with Steve and Darrell for dinner, (Professor Jiggs decided to stay at the motel and have a nap).
We met at La Barca restaurant, one of our favorite places, that I have blogged about many times. The restaurant was set up for a private party, possibly a quinceanria; but they still allowed us in to eat. This is not the first time that they have allowed us in to eat when they have been getting ready for events. You sure can't beat that service!
We had an enjoyable meal and good conversation. It is nice to meet people that you have known online for so long, and somehow they don't feel like strangers. I didn't take my camera with me; but Steve and Bliss both took a couple of pictures so if you want to see a photo you can head over to their blogs.
Steve et al are carrying on for Mazatlan today. We wish them a fun and safe trip.
