Just Checking In
There is not much going on here the last few days.
We have not had a printer on our computer since we came to Mexico. Lately I have been missing it as everytime I need something printed or scanned I have to head to the internet cafe. There is a place about a block from us; but its hours are not very reliable. A couple of days ago I went there 3 different times and they were not open at all, regardless of the notes on the door. So, yesterday we decided to go and look around at printers. All the things that we have heard/seen about electronics and computer products being more expensive here are true. We did buy one though, after all what choice do I have, this is where I live. I got it hooked up and working in the afternoon, and did the printing that I needed to do.
One thing I found interesting is that they no longer supply the USB cord with the printer, you have to buy one separately. The second thing is that when I asked if the ink cartridges were included, I was told yes and shown them. OK, that is a good thing. When I got home and looked at the included cartridges I noticed that they only contained 5 ml. of ink. I don't know if that is the normal procedure now or if it is a Mexico thing. The last printer I bought was in Canada and it was 3 or 4 yrs. ago, so things have probably changed. I don't think I will be doing much printing with 5 ml. of ink though, so will have to go and pick up some back up cartridges.
This morning we headed uptown to do some business. What we were wanting to do took less time and was less painful than we expected; but we will see if we are finished with it or not. I will update with more on this later. It seemed to go much easier than expected anyway.
