Not Going Nowhere

Being that Guaymas is a port city, fishing and shrimping are a big industry here. You can always see some shrimp boats in the harbor and sometimes you see ones that will never leave again. Seeing things like this makes me feel a bit sad, I always wonder what stories these boats could tell.

There were a couple of sinking shrimp boats on the other side of the bay where they did a lot of filling. They gradually filled around them and then men came in and cut them up into pieces and they were hauled away. History and stories gone, into a truck heading for the scrapyard. They were eyesores and yes, it looks better with them gone; but for some reason I really liked those old boats.
Before the filling.
After the filling; but before being cut up.
