Dia De Los Muertos--Day of the Dead Part One

On Saturday we went uptown to see the altars for the Day of the Dead, Dia de los Muertos. The Casa de la Cultura in co-ordination with other groups were holding the Festival de la Calaca. There was a parade from the Casa de la Cultura to the square in centro where the festival was being held. Many of the schools had gotten the children to make altars, as well as other groups and members of the public. There were a couple of stages set up with entertainment and some of the buildings were open to the public with displays of artwork and photography. We really enjoyed looking at the old photos of Guaymas, things certainly have changed over the years.
